In a recent report from the Panel on Climate Change, there will be climate zones of the future unlike any of the ones we know today. These new climate zones will be especially apparent in the tropics and adjacent lattitudes as the warm temperatures move closer to the poles.
Already studies have shown where some species of butterflies and birds are now migrating further North. At the current rate, by 2100 rain forrests may become savannahs and evergreen forrests may become deciduous. In highland areas that are very unique such as the Andes and Himalayas there me be complete disappearances of species and climates that sustained them.
